Subject: 74 bed new build care home
Site: Caldecott Close, Chester
Status: RIBA Stages: F-L/M Completed
Value: £4,500,000
Details: We were appointed by the client to undertake the working drawing stages for the project which received planning approval through DWA Architects Ltd. The scale, style and proportions of the outline elevations, approved by Chester and Cheshire West Local Authority, have been strictly implemented. The building has been designed to meet the requirements of the client whilst working within the approved, fixed footprint. In order to create a functional care home, working within CQC guidelines on room sizes and user requirements, minor alterations to the external appearance of the indicative elevations have occurred. The form of the building has been broken down into 3no. storey cubes with shallow pitched roofs, hidden behind parapets. The principal elegant volumes area also defined by the flanking chimneys to the cubes, carrying forward the style of architecture of the building which once domineered the site.
